IT networks
Enable the rapid and secure transmission of large amounts of scientific and computer modelled data. IT networks require the installation of structured networks incorporating fibre, copper and Wi-Fi network technologies.

Fibre optic networks
Optical fibres have a number of advantages over copper networks: they are small in size, possess high bandwidth, a strong resistance to electromagnetic interference, and transmit over long distances. However, optical fibres require expert installation since they are expensive, fragile, and difficult to splice.

Copper networks
Cat 5, Cat 5e, Cat 6, Cat 7 are copper-core cables (also known as ethernet cables) which are still the standard for data transmission through computer networks.

Wi-Fi
Wi-Fi wavebands suffer from relatively high absorption and common obstructions such as thick walls will greatly reduce their range. Careful system design is therefore required in to minimise interference and maximise connectivity and download speeds.

Data cabinets
This is a physical steel and electronic framework that is designed to house servers, networking devices, cables and other data centre computing equipment in one place. All Estrada Building Services-fitted cables terminate in patch panels inside a data cabinet.
